Living Will: 

A living will operates in conjunction with a health care power of attorney.  Its purpose is to authorize a client’s health care provider to take specific action if there is no reasonable hope of recovery. This document serves an important function if the individuals named in a health care power of attorney are not available—or are unable—to make decisions about the continuation of life-sustaining treatment.
